BE STILL

I have noticed something about myself...whenever I start to feel frenzied and overwhelmed, I can almost always trace it back to not spending quiet time pondering, reflecting, reading scriptures, and writing down my thoughts.

Taking time to quietly ponder and connect with my soul, and with God, helps me center myself, to be reminded of my worth, value and purpose.   Keeping the connection alive between my body and spirit helps me move forward with purpose.

But sometimes I forget.  More often than I would like, in fact. I allow myself to become distracted by the demands and struggles of daily life, and lose sight of the very thing I need most.  Stillness.

My 13 year old son recently participated in a class at school focused on taking care of yourself.  At first he didn't like it, but when they had to spend time just relaxing and meditating, it really helped him to deal with the stress of schoolwork and due dates.   Here is what he said about it..."The time that we take out of our day, to ponder and reflect on what we are doing right and what we need to work on, is a time that many overlook.  It gives us clarity and give us a daily goal."

"Listen to yourself and in that quietude you might hear the voice of God." ~Maya Angelou

Slow down, take a deep breath, notice the beauty, listen, and feel of the infinite love that God has for you!
