I believe that one of the ways God shows His great love for us is by giving us this beautiful world to live in. This picture was taken at the Blue Pool on the McKenzie River trail in Oregon. It was breathtaking. I wouldn't have imagined doing anything to take away from the beauty of that place.
He also gave us a miraculous body to experience this life in. Our bodies are all unique and some come with special challenges, but they are each a miracle! They are a gift through which we get to experience mortality, to learn and grow and evolve, to create so much good. What if we could adopt the same attitude toward our bodies and minds..we wouldn't want to do anything to take away from the beauty and wonder of it?
I know that when I take good care of my body, mind, and spirit, I have more peace and clarity in my life. I am more able to do good, to help others and be a bearer of God's light. And the opposite is also true, when I don't take care of it, I feel discord between my body and spirit, and things get all muddled up.
When I read the following quote, it gave me a powerful new perspective about my responsibility to myself and God as it pertains to my body...
"God created it, Jesus died for it, the Spirit lives in it, I'd BETTER take care of it!" ~ Rick Warren
I couldn't have summed it up any better!
