OPENING MY HEART

I have never been a dog person.   Raising five kids was hard enough, and the thought of keeping another body alive and cared for was beyond me.  So whenever the idea of getting a dog came up in my family my answer was a resounding NO!  My mind was completely closed when it came to a dog.

And then my heart began to change.  I had been praying for some time for a solution to a challenge my family was experiencing.  The answer that kept coming to my mind was none other than...a dog!  I ignored it, denied it, kept praying, and kept getting the same answer...dang it!

What happened next was nothing short of a miracle...my heart began to soften, the Lord sent us the PERFECT dog, and all of sudden, we were dog owners.  Evie captured all of our hearts (especially mine) and brought something special to our home and family that I never knew was missing.


Many miracles have come because of Evie.  How much my family and I would have missed if I had not opened my mind and heart to the idea of having her.

How often do we do this in our lives...keeping our minds closed to things that seem an absolute NO to us?  Deciding ahead of time how things should be?   Not being willing or open to the possibility that there could be a different way, or opportunities ahead that we cannot yet see?

Opening our hearts and minds to the possibilities that we don't yet comprehend can bring us more growth and blessings than we can even imagine!  I would highly recommend it!
